CPS Gradebook - IMPACT
During my student teaching placement and Lenart, I offered the students the choice for receiving weekly/bi-weekly emails about the class and using it as a format for students to ask questions about class material. It gave me format to post any updates with the class, common misconceptions and concerns, and bring in other resources they could access from home about the current material. My productivity is increased through the use of email since it is accessible to all of my students at any time after it is posted. Through this site, the students are able to communicate with me about any issues or concerns through e-mail as well as send me their completed homework each week. The responsibility of emailing my students every week enhances my professional growth as an educator by using technology as a resource for my students, in addition to providing me with a direct contact to my students.
During my student teaching placement and Manley High school, I was accustomed to the standard gradebook used by most CPS teachers. The site maximized the efficiency of inputing grades and giving students feedback about their grade and what they need to improve on. This was also accessible to parents, and gave them the chance of customizing their child's grade book to notify them if their child was below a certain score. Having a technological tool that can organize grades, attendance, assignments, and having this available for students and parents to view at all times will enable me to be as productive as possible in the classroom.
